My name is Stuart Walker, and I've been running long and ultra distance races for a few years now...

But in 2012 I will take on my biggest challenge yet, when I attempt to run across the Alps.

The journey will be 1,000 miles and the aim is to raise £10,000 for Water for Kids. WfK is a small charity, I have supported them in the past and they do fantastic work bringing drinking water to the world's poorest communities. There's more about the charity elsewhere on the site, as well as links so you can support the challenge and help them continue.

I will be updating the BigAlpsRun blog with all my training events and preparation, including running races, some record attempts and some big races with Team Accelerate. I'll also try to upload some photos and videos, so keep coming back to see how things are going!
